BOATS & GEAR:
 
When it comes to drift boats, there is only one as far as I am concerned: CLACKACRAFT BOATS.  I am on my fourth Clackacraft and they definitely "Fear No Rock."  If you want a quality boat call Bruce or Marty at 503-655-9532.

For a beautiful traditional wood landing net that has a fish friendly rubber bag, you can not beat FISKNAT.   Bob and Shannan Nelson do a beautiful job on these nets.   I have had my guide boat model for close to 10 years and it is awesome. 

LODGING:

The METHOW RIVER FLY SHOP now has a cabin overlooking the river that they have remodeled and is ready for lodging.  Give Al a call to set-up a reservation.  It has a bathroom (NO SHOWER - SHOWER AVAILABLE IN RV PARK), sink - microwave - refrigerator, double bed, and bunk bed.  During steelhead season, it will be renting for $45.00/night. 

For a great lodging experience, I recommend a family Bed & Breakfast METHOW SUITES located in Twisp.  The owners Sandy & Bill Moody are an awesome couple, and Bill is a retired Smoke Jumper who has lots of experiences.
 
For a great motel, the IDLE-A-WHILE-MOTEL in Twisp is is a good place to stay.  I have had several guests stay here and they all have had good things to say.

FLY SHOPS:

On the Yakima River it is hard to beat the crews at both THE EVENING HATCH and RED'S FLY SHOP.   If you are on the upper river  then YAKIMA RIVER FLY SHOP can handle all of your needs.

On the Methow River The METHOW RIVER FLY SHOP is starting to come of age.  Al has been working on this section of the Carlton General Store and it is starting to take shape.  It has Rio, TFO, Dr. Slick, Montana Fly Company Flies and Hooks, Solitude Flies,  Thingamabobbers, and SA lines and leaders.  It is a work in progress. 

HUNTING:

I grew up both hunting and fishing and when not on the river; I am most likely hunting if it is in season.  Over the last several years, I have been very involved in both the training and hunting of bird dogs.  English Setters are my chosen breed.  I own two, Pete and Pepper, and they are two of my best friends.  When it comes to the breeding and training of setters, there is none better than my friend Ryan Fortier, Owner of LONG HOLLOW BIRD DOGS, in Ellensburg, WA.  Pepper is one of his dogs and she is awesome.  Ryan also raises and trains retrievers.  If you are looking for a great companion and bird dog, call Ryan at 509-929-4031.
