Welcome to Griff's Fly Fishing Adventures. A fly fishing guide service devoted to making your overall fly fishing experience the best it can be. After spending many years fishing numerous rivers in eastern Washington and being a fly fishing guide on the Yakima River, I have recently settled on the pristine Methow River as my home river. It not only has great fishing, but also has an awesome landscape that rivals any landscape in the lower forty-eight. Its beautiful crystal clear water is home to some of the largest Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout in the State of Washington. In late summer and early fall, the Pacific Northwest's most majestic fish, the steelhead, return to the Methow to start another generation and we wait with eager anticipation to see if there will be a steelhead season.
The home base for my fly fishing guide service is the Methow River Fly Shop located in downtown Carlton, Washington. The shop is owned and operated by Al and Twylla Lynch. They are also the owners and operators of the Carlton General Store, Cafe, and RV Park. During the season if I am not on the river or hunting you can find me hanging around the shop tying a fly or talking fishing.
I also spend time guiding on the Wenatchee, Yakima, Klickitat, and Grand Ronde Rivers. Depending on the river and its conditions, you will be floating in either a 16' Clackacraft drift boat or a 15' three person cataraft with sliding casting decks and lean bars. Both setups allow you to fish out of the boat safely and comfortably.
I am a promoter of and support catch and release to ensure that our future generations will still have a sport to enjoy. God has blessed us with much. It is up to us to be good stewards of all He has given us. I invite you to join me in a truly awesome fly fishing adventure.
