"Back in Pennsylvania. Just wanted to thank you again for the two days on the Methow last week. Jim and I thoroughly enjoyed the fishing and your expert guiding. We fished Robinson Creek on Friday and did well. Also tried Boulder Creek after that but the National Guard had the roads blocked so we could not get there. Hope you and your mules are OK. Hope to make it back there sometime. It is truly a beautiful place. Be well."
Rod, "already looking at our calendar for a return visit with you to the Methow. What a great river. 2 days, 2 different floats, lots of fish and beautiful scenery made for a perfect trip. Great fun catching rainbows, and cutthroats and never saw another boat all day. Thanks for the recommendation on the Twisp Suites Hotel; it was just what we wanted. And also for all your teaching and patience with my partner in the front of the boat. She caught the biggest trout, and I'll never hear the end of it!" See you soon,
St. Louis, MO
Testimonial for Rod Griffin’s Fly Fishing Guide services "We had a great August afternoon on the Methow with Rod. Caught some nice fish, had great conversations. Rod knows the water from many years of guiding and treats his clients with kindness. We’ll be back looking for Steelhead in the fall after hearing great accounts of this river and what she holds. And we appreciate his donation of this trip to the Federation of Fly Fishers, Washington State Council."
This picture says it all
Welcome to Griff's Fly Fishing Adventures, a fly fishing guide service devoted to making your overall fly fishing experience the best it can be. After spending many years fishing numerous rivers in eastern Washington and being a fly fishing guide on the Yakima River, I have settled on the pristine Methow River as my home river. It not only has great fishing, but also has an awesome landscape that rivals any landscape in the lower forty-eight. Its beautiful crystal clear water is home to some of the largest Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout in the State of Washington. In late summer and early fall, the Pacific Northwest's most majestic fish, the steelhead, return to the Methow to start another generation, and we wait with eager anticipation to see if there will be a steelhead season.
The home base for my fly fishing guide service is a small cabin located in a canyon just south of Twisp, WA. If I am not on the river fishing or out with my dogs hunting, I am most likely hanging around the cabin tying flies or fooling around with the website.
I also spend time guiding and/or fishing on the Wenatchee, Klickitat, and Grand Ronde Rivers. On river trips, most floating is done in my 18' ClackaMax drift boat but there are times when I have to use my 15' three person cataraft. Both setups allow you to fish out of the boat safely and comfortably.
I am a promoter of and support catch and release to ensure that our future generations will still have a sport to enjoy. God has blessed us with much. It is up to us to be good stewards of all He has given us. I invite you to join me in a truly awesome fly fishing adventure.
God Bless You & Yours!
